awesome! amazing! two words to describe libera. i'm so stuck with these choirboys, they live up to their "angelic voices". three times i heard these x'mas songs. while at the mall prior to the M & G, my CD which was given to me during the meet & greet and hearing them sing live on their concert made it more special.
we wanted to get to the venue a bit early. carmela (my daughter) reported for work but would go undertime as we told her we need to have allowance for traffic (wishful thinking). we'll have dinner elsewhere and be at the PICC at least an hour before the concert. besides, i want to meet lala's family and do a bit of chat-chat as i knew we won't be able to mingle during & after the concert.
we were still able to use my husband's privelege (being a former employee of bangko sentral/monetary board) the use of executive parking at the back of the PICC. otherwise, we'll have to spend some precious minutes looking for a parking area. the guards whom he was familiar with assisted us, very graciously ushered me & my daughter to the executive entrance much to the surprise of the 2 PICC staffs in charge of registration (for PICC and VIPs/guests). why, we were also able to use the executive ladies room with just the two of us! on our way to the ladies room, we met mr. roberto de ocampo (on his way to the backstage area) who recognized me (thank you, sir!) and made a remark about how this concert was better than the 2009/2010 concerts (in terms of attendance). "we're performing to a sold out concert" was his reply. i didn't want to take much of his time - i thank him again for bringing back libera to perform for us.
a few minutes down the line and we were ushered to our seats (b 13-14). but i couldn't find lala's party. later i learned they were caught in traffic. even the rest of the crowd came a bit late - finally, people started to fill up the empty seats, some started clapping as a signal for the concert to commence.
there was 'smoke' coming from the right end of the stage. the lights dimmed. the british and phil. national anthems were played. let the games, errrrr, concert begin....

MEET & GREET....."sour notes"
---with the M & G nearing it's sked date, i looked forward to seeing old friends from way back. although two of the originals (from st. phillips) couldn't make it, romina enopia (davao) and eric pazziuagan (palawan). i was assured though that riel sacop & sofia r. can make it.
---in 2009, i was quite active on libera matters - active to the point that i earned more enemies than friends on the internet, hah hah i ate curses left & right, humiliation that brought (unnecessary) tears from midnight until the early hours of morning. now, i can just look back about it with regret. i became the "bitch" at 360 which left me the decision to just leave because of my non-hypocrital remarks.
---i made friends with some of them, members & administrators. i might have said quite a few negative remarks during last year's libera event in my blog but i wrote it the way it was said, planned, and done. i expect people to be professional about it (politicians hurl hurting words to each other & yet they remain friends even though there's less sincerity and more hypocrisy).
---so that was what happened yesterday. i felt sad. and bad. i saw one whom i encountered in the past. it was a bitter goodbye for us on the net. i treated him as a son. we talked about a lot of things. he confided some of his problems to me. i tried the best i could to ease his burden. i waited for him to approach me. he definitely saw me, passed by me, looked through me. another boy made the same "gesture". oh well, i'm not expecting respect from this people but i hope they can simply forget the past and offer a hand of friendship again.

LIBERA MEET & GREET, oct. 23, 2011, SM d'block atrium (PART THREE)
to be honest, i had this plot to check on a few people. i wanted to do something which was a bit "unfinished" during last year's M & G. much as it was exciting to see the boys again, to me it was done - i just wanted to see the newbies - well, josh, stefan, matthew, the collins brothers and cassius, the meow being the "oldies". maybe fate wanted mitch to go to SM because we were finally destined to meet andy winter. to those unfamiliar with what i'm talking about, mitch and andy had "issues" in the past, during last year's M & G. it ended well but what would be a fitting scenario to close the issue with the people involved meeting and talking personally - and it happened. it started with a "quite a long convo" (compared to last year) with her majesty, barbara (the chaperoness). awww, she was so sweet & extra accommodating now. i think we had our pics taken, surprisingly, not on my camera :( i don't recall now who took the picture. i asked her a lot of things and so did mitch. i can just remember asking her how tom cully was, her reply "oh, he's good".. and that to please send my regards to tom c. & to tell him that he still has a lot of fans here; asked if this could be josh's final tour & her reply was "who knows"? yes, only prizeman knows, hah hah
we waited for THE man. barbara said he was 'somewhere'. mitch & i really had the intention of meeting him now - it's now or never. and there he was. tsk-tsk, he knew us!!! when he approached us and we told him that we wanted to meet him, he readily said "you must be mitch" (and shook mitch's hand); "and you must be thelma (shook my hand). awwww, i wanted to faint!! everything fell into place! the look on his face while talking to mitch was simply awesome! and what more, obliged for picture taking, too! so now it can be told mitch - we didn't go there for the libera boys - we went there to meet a new friend! and according to mitch, while heading for the exit after the M & G, andy threw a hand on him. nice one, mitch young! proud of you both...
tomorrow, i'll do the uploading. haaay, what a way to end the day! the boys of libera, andy, barbara, yuki and mom, sofia, jack, riel, irvin, and of course mitch.

LIBERA MEET & GREET, oct. 23, 2011, SM d'block atrium (PART TWO)
i thought we'll occupy the entire atrium so i rushed to where this crowd was and my daughter screamed as i was entering the wrong venue! there were 2 events today, actually. one was a competition of some sorts (never bothered to find out what it was) and the M & G. like last year, we queue in line to get our numbers. and just like in the past one has to buy their CD & get a poster for the boys to sign. that's 400 pesos. we settled on the empty seats in the middle of the area. i wonder who were supposed to take the empty seats on our left - heard somebody that one just needed to buy an SM eco-bag to get in but won't be allowed to go up the stage for the autograph signing. i was numero 74. then came familiar faces - yuki and her mom...yes, the globe-trotting yuki who is everywhere when libera makes a concert. she has been to london, canada, USA then went again to europe to watch stefan's opera in vienna. then here at the PICC on tuesday, cebu on the 29th and london again next month. "yuki-san, if libera will hold a concert on the moon, you'll get front row seats again", hah hah - very dedicated...
then my favorite libera fan, sofia r., who came along with her friends, diana & angelica. OMG, even my daughter noticed sofia to be extra beautiful today! ohhh, i just love the looks on these teenagers!! riel sacop came with a friend; irvin flores texted me; mia fortugaleza came with friends - ohhh, i love their shirts, too (i have pics to show later); eric paulin made us sign something to greet josh on his b-day (sorry eric for the bold letters, heh heh); and jack evasco, whom i met for the first time. true to his word, he had his camera with him & wasted no time getting pictures of just about everything & everyone.
carmela went up the stage for the first batch - liam, kavana, sammy, alex, JB and the rest of the newbies. i simply enjoyed the view from afar & walked around to take more pictures of the crowd. then it dawned on me why my friend, mitch young wasn't around. actually, i already called mitch from the house to ask if he was going - he was on duty (being a male nurse at the ortho). texted him again and really prodded (was it commanded, mitch? hah hah) him to join us. he came about an hour later, surprisingly with just a digicam & celfone on hand - no professional camera! little did i know that mitch's presence would bring a lot of surprises! from my stupidity to finally getting acquainted with our new "friend" now, andy winter. yiheeey!
it was my turn now to meet the second batch - josh, matthew, cassius, HB, stefan and another set of newbies. i was no. 22 so i was among the first to be called. i told mitch i'd sneak him in (make arte-arte, if you know what i mean...). so upon reaching the start of the line, i requested that mitch stay beside me to take pictures as my hands are not that steady anymore in taking pictures (hah, the perks of being old!!) "ok", go ahead - no problemo. it wasn't my steady hands that was the problem after all.. it was my brain! just as i started getting to HB, i clicked on the video mode- wah, it was a breeze! i knew i had the best video ever! getting to josh was quite exciting as he was ever smiling - way past stefan, matthew madine even - - then i took the chance to request josh to personalize his greeting (josh, whatever happened to your GCSE that you suddenly forgot to spell my name???) so it took a while because i dictated each & every letter of my name to him, even congratulated him on his GCSE. with matthew, i asked how old he was, twice. this boy is sooooo shy, i never understood his reply, though. hah hah now comes cassius. i asked him to "meow" twice which he did with gusto - nice boy! and the grand dame slowly descended the stage to the waiting hand of manong guard (mitch caught this moment!)
back at my seat to review the video - NADA!!!!! so carmela asked if i turned on the red button? WHAT RED BUTTON????? (which i already rehearsed minutes before my number was called). i wanted to bang my head on the floor!!! how can me at this age & event be soooooo stupidly stupid!!! mitch, who was at my side was the one taking his own vid & pics so i had to ask him later to furnish me pics & vids of my own stupidity.. dammmeeet! imagine, had mitch decided not to come to the event, i will have no, as in nothing of the 2nd batch boys...

LIBERA MEET & GREET, oct. 23, 2011, SM d'block atrium (PART ONE)
---bear with me...this is looooong, hah hah... i opted to do my blog now as i'm already having a case of "poor memory" aka memory gap suffice to say. so while i'm still high with euphoria, might as well hit it.
---i already knew about libera's plans of coming back to the phils. from romina who had connections inside the BAA. although this was taken lightly by everyone, there was also reason to believe because of their sked concerts in canada & USA (can asia be far behind?). and so it was finally confirmed after their canada/USA tour.
---my fondness for libera was "halted" for a while when i became occupied with a teener named damian mcginty whom i chanced upon while watching the glee project. this 18-yr old is a crooner (bet he'll have a bite on his career if he just sticked singing contemporary songs. why, he can duplicate michael buble- or even better. damian is with a group, celtic (pronounced 'keltic') thunder. well, all's well that ends well - he got top spot (together with samuel larsen) & will appear on 7 episodes of glee. so now, i'm back with libera.
---and so the announcement came - libera is coming back with PICC & cebu concerts. no meet & greet? IMPOSSIBLE. hell will break loose if they won't hold a M & G on both concerts. and so the waiting starts....
i must admit having financial difficulties starting in early august when my daughter lost her job but was good enough to have found one by end of the same month. an angel from san francisco, also a libera fan whom i met at lexi's mini angels site (she was the same person who mailed her extra canada & US programmes to me) came to my rescue. i told her maybe we can't go to the concert as tickets were a bit expensive & was way out of my budget. well, we could but probably get the cheapest - which was at 515 pesos. since it was my b-day in august and carmela's on sept., she sent me a message on facebook telling me our tickets were her birthday gifts to both of us.. WOW! a few days after, there were our online tickets posted on my message box. i wanted to make it public but she didn't like it so i promised i'd mention about it after the concert. and i guess it's best fitting to thank LALA SEGISMUNDO for our best birthday gifts ever.
then news about the M & G came out. hah hah - filipino fans will revolt if they don't hold one! i was hoping for the podium again but SM d'block? i think i mentioned about how chaotic this mall is during weekends. nevertheless, it was accessible from all points unlike the podium where some were not familiar with.
i went to check the atrium of SM d'block last wed., the 19th. my golly, libera music filled the entire mall. it was a joy to hear x'mas carols in october and
made it more exciting because it was libera singing - awesome.
another TV appearance. this time on ASAP. i knew this would happen - just when did these kind of program's audience become appreciative of choirboys, huh? they were a hit last year when they sang 'bayan ko' on showtime BUT singing a x'mas carol in october? they practically sang to a dead audience!!! and just as their number was done, it rained... awwww. i knew we were only minutes apart in reaching SM. we're like just 5-mins away from ABS-CBN. did i see an orange bus entering the SM premises? my husband decided to go straight edsa than turning right towards trinoma ***sad*** i somehow had this feeling it was them on that bus...

,,,friendship and money...
---i met you during the height of norman alcala's performance. we stood by each other to "crash" this person posing as somebody who's not. then we became familiar and treated each other as family. our friendship went beyond facebook, formspring and myspace. we burned the wires on the internet, talked about what-nots on skype, exchanged messages on the celfone, sent each other packages, cried on each other's shoulders. why, you even declared yourself as my "daughter" on facebook!
---of all things i have always hated are lies, deceit comes next. you suggested that i be friends with b.s.j., also a libera fan. we hit if off right away because we are almost of same age. i can relate to b. and i find her a good person. now, all too suddenly, you commanded me to delete her for reasons you withheld. then i found, through you, too cynthia kurleto aka cindy, whom i requested to add because i liked her at the time she was a celebrity here years back. then out of the blue, you dictated to me again to delete CK because she and b cannot be seen on my page! again i demanded for a reason. and here's your part of the story... cousin "caroline" used cindy kurleto's picture for her profile, pretended to be cindy, cooked up a miserable story for bsj to believe. why, it was just a simple case of lying!!! so why not make it up for bsj and admit the lie - and you said "yes, but in her own time".....
"in her own time"...because this "caroline" was already asking a large amount of money from bsj? and she was still buying some time to milk her more, am i right? now comes bsj's side which she voluntarily offered to me yesterday, good friday. your story was unbelievable!!! script nicely done to make it appear that it's really happening. and how much did you take out from the woman, miles away from here? $3,500.00 computed in pesos @43/$ is 150,500 pesos!! now tell me, is caroline (to me), marie (to bsj) and you one and the same person? congratulations, you just won in a lottery without buying a single ticket!!
who am i to condemn you? you asked for compassion, care, understanding - for what? for extorting money from people? just what kind of a person are you? we are all in a financial fix right now but extorting money from an innocent person or any person for that matter is not in any way on my agenda.
using other people's photos, profile and details is prohibited, you know that and yet you did so much damage to cindy kurleto to extort money from another person. you knew it was wrong and yet you tolerated - all for the love of money.
now it dawned on me could you be norman alcala too? you have the same style - you're all professional posers. could that picture of norman here on my blog a picture of an innocent person picked randomly on the internet?
stay away from callum, stay away from izzo and tom cully's friends! stay away from libera and stay away from the internet!!!

....THE UNSUB....
The Unsub
by Anna Carmela Guzman on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 1:40pm
College thesis taught me that attitude is a person’s way of thinking over a short period of time. It could change from day to day, weekly and in a month. Behavior, on the other hand, takes longer to acquire. It’s all the factors of a person’s past and present. You take into consideration a person’s educational, socio-economical and family background to come up with the reason why he behaves in a certain way.
In everything a person does, there’s always a WHY. That’s the first thing you should always ask yourself to get into the mind of someone. Why does he arrange his clothes in a certain way? Why does he love kids? Why is she a man-hater? Why does a full-grown adult refuse to eat vegetables? Every move has a reason behind it.
A person acts a certain way because of a stressor. A stressor could be a lot of things – abuse, traumatic childhood, broken relationships, bullying – the list could go on. Then, as that person grows older, he finds ways to act on these frustrations. A kid who didn’t have a father or a mother growing up could tend to look for an older partner, in the same way that an eldest child in the family might look for a partner who would take care of her because all her life she’s been taking care of her siblings. Nothing’s wrong with this, it’s human nature. We all have needs and we find satisfaction in other people.
There are however, instances when acting on life’s frustrations can become dangerous. One frustration could lead to another when the former is not met. Some often resort to extreme ways that could later on damage relationships and reputations. It’s typical to be scared, to desperately cover tracks and to try to save whatever’s left.
I’m saying this because after 27 (and counting) episodes of what could be the best crash course in human psychology, I can easily read through your actions now. Am I mad? Hell yes. I’m Jason Gideon-level pissed. In all my online life, I’ve come to hate posers. I’ve been reporting accounts of people who I know are not who they claim to be and yet one is circling right under my radar undetected.
I pretty much let my Mom be when it comes to her Facebook account. She belongs to the small statistic of uber-active Facebook users in her age range. When I come home she’s always got something to share about who she met, who she’s been talking to. Being the cyber-bitch that I was years ago, I make sure to constantly remind her to be careful of what she shares and more importantly, who she shares it with.
I’ve seen her sleep at 5am over some asshole who posed as a certain person who resides in London. Oh, since when was London where Enchanted Kingdom is?
But just like all things in life, it can get worse.
Worse, because my family treated you as one of us. Worse, because I know you’re important to my Mom because I’m pretty sure you kept her company when she needed one. I didn’t mind installing Skype and her staying up late because I know she was happy she could talk to someone. Worse, because you took posing to an entirely new level.
We all have problems – emotionally, physically, financially, spiritually. I’m dealing with all of that right now, believe me. But the last thing on my mind is taking advantage of a person’s trust and using it to my benefit.
So going back to what I established in the beginning, why are you doing this? Why take on an identity you know is not yours and take advantage of a person’s trust in you? Was letting my Mom add CK your way of admitting to her about what you’re doing wrong? Because you could’ve easily refused to let her add CK. But you did, then you did some damage control over something my Mom was totally clueless about. Come to think of it, there wouldn’t be this issue if you didn’t pressure her to delete either CK or B. That in itself has guilt written all over it.
But you can turn this around. Sure you’re guilty and you’re scared but right now anything is better than continuing what you’re doing. The best damage control is to ‘fess up, not spinning new stories. And you know it.
One of the things I learned in those 27 episodes is to show compassion to unsubs who acted on a stressor that stems to when they were still young. It’s psychological. It’s their way of coping. So at some corner in this brain of mine, there’s a little bit of understanding. But the rest is just fed-up with bullshit.
I don’t need any more explanations and stories. You know who you’re answerable to. And by all means consider this a threat when I say I have connections to the real person involved.
Take care of my mom? Damn straight, I will. And I’m beginning by keeping her from people like you.
