***death of an officer & a gentleman***

---while a congressional hearing is gearing up for the entire filipino people to see, a tragic incident happened when one of the generals involved took his own life on the family's memorial plot where his parents are buried. apparently, asking for forgiveness or simply just wanting to end it all to save his family's honor.

---i don't know col. angelo reyes personally but i apologize for my actions earlier for making a mockery out of what happened to him. seriously, we still don't know if he's guilty or not. his name was implicated in what is described as corruption in the highest level inside & within the armed forces of the philippines. but there is no doubt that col. garcia (and his family) is guilty of corruption. and now, thanks to COA auditor, heidi mendoza & col. rabusa, who are telling & naming it all - from A-Z.

---in my personal point of view, i see col. reyes as a good person. there may be other factors which could have led him to "accept" (again, not yet proven) large sum of money - not maybe for himself but for his family. his wife was reported to be on a traveling spree and buying properties abroad together with the wife of another general (who acted stupidly while answering queries from sen. jinggoy estrada).

---behind a successful husband is an understanding & supportive wife. a husband's love for his wife may surpass anything, including giving her everything she wants - wealth, especially. properties, good & expensive education for the kids, luxury cars. the husband gave them much - but she wanted more.

---i will bet my last centavo if the wife never knew about this "pasalubong" & "pabaon" thing. rumors have it that the husband didn't even know she was already the one asking for both without his knowing. the generals, their wives & families were getting millions of pesos - money intended for the soldiers of the AFP - salaries, retirement pays, housing, loans. even funding to procure new weapons/ammunitions. but where did the millions go? to the corrupt hands of these people who owe so much the poor, lowly soldiers risking their lives just to defend our country from rebellious elements. poor soldiers & their hungry families. they may never taste the comfort of living in a concrete house, savor the latest gadgets and more importantly, send their children to a good school.

---guilty or not, col. reyes sacrificed his life to have peace of mind - and up to the last moment of his life, saved his family's name & honor. protected those who are also involved. i have to say this, if there is little dignity left on his wife and kids, give back the large sum they took from the AFP and start distributing this to our soldiers. they have enjoyed luxury - from mansions, luxury cars, good & expensive food, endless travels abroad, expensive schools. the husband took his own life because there was little dignity left in him. why not take it from here - or simply duplicate what he did.

***no offense to fat women....***

---luckily, i was born being on the "slim" side. although my auntie flora (papa's twin sister, is on the heavy side now that she has aged). no offense to fat people, per se - i have friends & relatives who are, well, overweight - but let's admit it - either it's hereditary, inborn or maybe food, oh, glorious food just keeps on tempting. i was thin during my younger years. tipped the scale a bit more when i started working and wow, the wonders of motherhood - that added to my bulging waistline now (plus of course another wonder of technology on giving birth - CS section).

---actually, my blog won't touch so much on "bulging waistline like mine. i am writing this in disgust after looking up on a billboard along edsa - showing the megastar, sharon cuneta "before & after". well, that's how i'd interpret it as there's this photo of her showing how BIG she is and another picture showing how she is NOW - which is horrendous!!! we all know how big and biggie ms. cuneta is. she aptly fits in our 29-inch TV but maybe will have a hard time fitting in a 14-inch, oh well.

---she is endorsing marie france - a slim salon offering those modern day magic of what most women loves - transformation. in fairness, i have adorned the beauty of ms. dawn zulueta, also an endorser of marie france. but dawn has the body (and beauty). she has given birth to 2 kids (not so sure about this), gained a few pounds but instantly regained her normal body weight. but sharon? uh-oh, she is still FAT!!! or maybe she took after her mom, elaine cuneta who is also on the heavy side. and with sharon's endorsement of edible foods - from noodles, ice cream, milk, burger, and God knows what - anything edible, she gobbles....

---so my status on FB says - there is no truth in advertising. only the stars get paid millions for false endorsements. and to add more insult to injury, they benefit a billboard for us to see. there are other billboards (well, mostly by belo), jinky pacquio, zsa zsa padilla, gretchen barretto - all these beautiful women are pleasing to the motorist's eyes (never mind if they tell me it has been photoshopped a million times) but you see "beauty". however, on sharon's case, instead of getting a relaxed moment while traffic is heavy along edsa, and looking up and admiring all the billboards - from food, gadgets, apparel, shoes, etc. one will have the feeling of DISGUST because we all know ms. sharon cuneta is still fat - - and will always be fat.

the travails (highs & lows) of job hunting/applying for a job...

---i am dedicating this piece to my friend K.G., who, since last year, was patiently scouring the streets of the city of pines looking for a decent job to sustain her & her son, v. coincidentally, i wanted to try my luck in finding a job for myself, too - to tide up with the expenses and the endless bills. K and i were discussing about the possibility of doing home-based jobs. i found one in the internet which would pay a few cents just by reading & rating some articles. i found it rather interesting reading those articles but had doubts if they'd really pay up. anyways, we thought and did some research on those english-tutoring jobs that would offer a more flexible home-based work for housewives like us.

---i remember during my younger years when i patiently walked and drove the streets of manila just to look for "odd" jobs. odd, i should say, because i wasn't armed with any degree. my only reserve was a 2-yr college course and a drumfull of the english language (thanks to my elem and HS alma mater) and an exclusive girls school along gilmore, i bested the long line of applicants queueing for administrative jobs - only because my english was straight & fluent.

---it wasn't easy, though. while i passed all the interviews, i lacked that piece of thing which every applicant was asked to submit - a diploma. so it was another struggle to seek employment elsewhere until i stumbled upon those 'fly-by-night' companies - they hire you only after you sell and present them with a quota, after which there wasn't any office position available, anyway. this one tested my fury - i was asked to report somewhere in escolta with a promise of a clerical job. there was 2-weeks of endless trainings dealing with insurance policy then we get paid one-peso as a "token" given at the end of the day. two weeks passed and i see no tables or chairs or even an office set-up so i confronted the owner/manager what was the next thing to do. i'd sell about 10 insurance policies to get that clerical position i applied for. bullshit!!! i threw the one peso coin on his face because i applied for a clerical job & not as an insurance agent - besides, selling wasn't my turf!

---the HR. this is the human resource dept. of any office. the HR is in charge of dealing with all the applicants/applications/tests/interviews/procedures, etc. - for me, i think the HR is the life of any company. being so, we expect people in this department to be HUMAN ergo HUMANE which the dictionary says "humane people act in a kind, sympathetic way towards other people & try to do them as little harm as possible". i'm not biased here but in my years of experience of job-hunting, the HR is tantamount to a gestapo-like work area, where prospective applicants fear about. here, people act like mighty gods. they are your "make or break". the HR people are the last to look at you -either they'll hire you or let you walk out of that door. they're invincible, and they are ALWAYS right.

---i hope people who are in the HR department should be given extra training in public relations. and this is what my blog is all about. K had an unpeasant encounter with the HR dept. of the tutoring company, of which she already passed the necessary requirements & made to report for a demo which was supposed to be the last step for the homebase account until the HR personnel of said office made a blunder that made her withdrew her application. entonces, they let go of someone who is capable of doing a good job or perhaps be an asset in their company in the future.

---hell hath no fury, esp if you do this to a woman. after the explanation, tears, embarrassment & humiliation, i think it was just right for her to post this.

still on my yearender blog...

---i missed thanking 2 of libera's fans who unselfishly continue to share with us fans the activities (concerts/meet & greet) of the choirboys. LALA SEGISMUNDO of libeLA and LEXI SUE of mini angels/the music of libera. they have provided us with firsthand information of what transpired during libera's concerts from asia, japan, korea, US and UK. their reviews of the activities of the boys are simply amazing!! from their pictures and videos, which leaves us thrilled and excited.

---there are only a few of us bloggers who share our experiences with libera. while i had mine which i only started last april, it gives my readers my own personal experiences, how it felt to be meeting them and all the friends or fans i met from around.

---again, thank you lexi and lala. it's a joy meeting you through your libera reviews!

P.S. and this is for you, jaundice decision...

---it was quite upsetting to read a very nasty comment from you on this first day of the year. this is my blog, my page, my honest opinions, my personality. if you don't care about anything written down here then go to another site and leave your nasty remarks there. i know who you are. and in doing so, you just made a terrible mistake in hurting my feelings. do you believe in the saying "what comes around, goes around?" you will never, ever succeed in anything you do and every endeavor you take will never, ever materialize. that is the greatest mistake you did by calling me names of which i'm not.

---so next time, show some RESPECT because when you say anything to hurt me, it's just like saying it to your own mother!

what a way to greet 2011!!!

---while waiting for my cupcakes to get done in cupcake corner, and after gorging on so much food to celebrate the new year, i turned on my laptop only to find a very nasty comment on my recent blog. it was from a certain "jaundice decision" who has so cowardly hidden under the skirt of his ego to greet my blog with one word which can only probably describe himself - - - "arsehole".

---and reviewing my past blogs, i found another comment coming from him again calling me a "brit hag" and a "pervert", claiming those words came from the mouth of tom cully (who in heaven's name doesn't even know me from adam!).

---i have 3 names in mind. and these are the real certified perverts who follow thomas cully, open an account using his name, his pictures, copy his music, pretend they know him that well and even claiming to own something which is next to impossible.

---so to you, jaundice decision - if you don't have anything good to say, save those words to yourself, go and face the mirror and there you'll realize what a real pervert is. go to your little corner of your room, check on the dictionary and look up the meaning of these words - FAN, FANATIC & PERVERT.

---as for me? i'm a fan. a certified libera fan who will fight tooth and nail to uncover any sinister thoughts you gay fans have for those boys.

YEARENDER:::the year that was, 2010....

---only 3 hours and 20 minutes before the clock strikes 12 midnight and we welcome 2011!! outside, a frenzy of firecrackers, loud music, panicking dogs & cats (wondering where to hide), neighbors screaming at each other, neighbors bragging on what they have for media noche (that's chow time during new year/noche buena for christmas).

---i have some significant events to remember this year. a new dog, meeting LIBERA for the first time, mhelai moving on to another company (career move, as she terms it), hubby also getting a new job at transcom, the passing away of my mother-in-law in july, & also, the passing away of tatot cadavos, a young libera fan from maasin, southern leyte and the most memorable event was that of getting duped by an ordinary person by the name of norman alcala. hah, add to that, i lost my precious pair of earrings to a very young snatcher along the busy intersection of welcome-rotonda.

---the happiest moment of my life was meeting each and every boy of LIBERA. that was in april during their philippine summer promo tour. there was also a bonus of meeting all the other members of libera 360 & the rest of libera fans from around luzon. it was a pleasure meeting all of them. a few became close to me as we still communicate through the internet or meeting up with them personally - to name, mitch young and romina enopia. while sadly, the rest i had to give up or delete from my contacts on facebook because of conflicts of opinions esp when it touched on the topic about the choirboys.

---it could have been a perfect yearender when a boy named norman alcala made me believe i was really communicating with 5 of prizeman's best - cully, madine, horncastle, leadbeater and fontannaz. i had tears in my eyes when tom cully appeared in my chatbox to say hello, stefan leadbeater addressed me as "auntie", joshua madine replied to my query, and michael horncastle finally acknowleged my greetings. i counted 22 days (or nights or early mornings) of bliss! but it was all just a dream, a nightmare - a HOAX!

---the heavens sent me "frustration" in believing norman alcala was a real bridge between the boys of libera and us fans. but on the same breathe, it brought me closer to 2 real fans & friends that up to the last hour of deleting norman in our accounts, we stayed together, laughed our hearts out together and somehow eased the burden of how stupidity got into our heads - regardless of age, character & education. KAYE GUEVARA is from baguio city, a true-blue tom cully fan. his 8-year old son, vittorio also stayed up to chat with this "fake tom cully" - poor boy, he believed in his heart he was really chatting with the real thomas cully...kaye never fails to give me a good, hearty laugh even at 2 or 3 in the morning. she always has a joke for everyone. the disappointment & frustration brought to me by norman was compensated with kaye's generosity of what an honest & a good person should be.
MARY JOY or EK is from ontario, canada. she is also a true-blue tom cully fan. the 3 of us were brought together through one common factor - we admire and adore thomas cully!! mary joy sometimes joins us on skype, no matter how busy she is with her job looking after her beloved wards. i so love these 2 "witches" (i gave this term to name the 3 of us...WITCHES). they keep me updated on what's going on with thomas and libera. if tom cully makes it big in the music industry, he can hire the 3 of us - oh, we make good bodyguards, nannies, bouncers - - - even cleaners, hah hah hah

---what a year!! at my age (52), i couldn't ask for more except good health to stay on facebook, a near-perfect eyesight so when libera hopefully comes back for a concert, i won't need a magnifying glass to look at each and everyone of them, heh heh oh well, and maybe finally meeting andy winter to say hello and ask for his autograph.

HAPPY NEW YEAR DEAR FELLOW BLOGGERS!!! may we be continuously blessed with abundance of health and wealth for the new year!!!
